Research Workshop on Environmental Impacts of Energy
On Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 11:00 AM in Hall 6739, under the patronage of the President of Philadelphia University, the closing presentation of the Research Workshop on the Environmental Impacts of Energy took place. This workshop, held from April 10-17, 2019, was organized for students of the Department of Renewable Energy Engineering under the supervision of Dr. Hasan Maridi and the guidance of Dr. Muhammad Mahdi Al-Salman, Head of the Department, and Prof. Dr. Qassem Al-Obaidi, Dean of the College. The event was attended by the university president, Prof. Moataz Sheikh Salem, along with faculty members and guests.
Workshop Objectives and Significance
The establishment of this research forum aligns with the university’s commitment to:
Enhancing scientific research values among students
Facilitating integration between teaching, research, and application
Encouraging collaboration between the university and society
Providing a platform for student-administration interaction
Closing Presentation and Key Remarks
The presentation featured:
A welcome speech by Dr. Hasan Maridi, in which he greeted the university administration, faculty, and guests and provided an overview of the workshop’s objectives.
A speech by Murad Khairallah, student representative, expressing students’ excitement about their participation in the research initiative.
An interactive session where the university president, the dean, department head, faculty, and guests visited the students' research projects and engaged in discussions with the students about their work.
Following these sessions, students organized a breakfast gathering, facilitating informal discussions between students, the Dean of the College, and the President of the University.
Student Recognition and Honors
At the conclusion of the event, certificates of participation were distributed to all students who took part in the workshop. Additionally, students honored Dr. Hasan Maridi and the Head of the Department in a joyful atmosphere, capturing the moment with memorial photos alongside faculty members, department administrators, and university officials.
