Research Forum for Applications of Physics in Medical Sciences

Under the patronage of the Presidency of Al-Nasser University, and in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Seif Muharram, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the College of Medical Sciences held the closing ceremony of the Student Research Forum for the Applications of Physics in Medical Sciences on Thursday morning, December 28, 2017. The forum ran from December 10 to 21, 2017, for first-year students in the departments of pharmacy and laboratories, under the supervision of Dr. Hasan Maridi.

Objectives of the Forum

The workshop aimed to enhance students' experience in scientific research, helping them understand:

Research Topics

The forum covered fourteen major research topics, exploring key applications of physics in medical sciences:

Research Presentation and Student Engagement

According to Dr. Hasan Maridi, Assistant Professor of Nuclear Theoretical Physics, modern teaching methods rely on three main pillars: research, communication, and participation. The Student Research Forum was designed to demonstrate the importance of physics in medical disciplines, helping students understand its crucial role in various medical applications.

Dr. Maridi expressed his gratitude to the Presidency of Al-Nasser University for their continuous support during the preparation of the forum.

Institutional Support and Acknowledgments

Dr. Yasser Al-Madhaji, Head of the Pharmacy Department, commended both students and supervisors for their dedication in preparing the forum. He emphasized that Al-Nasser University is committed to supporting research initiatives that nurture students' love for scientific exploration and knowledge acquisition. He reiterated that scientific research is a necessity, not a luxury, for societal progress.

Forum Structure and Attendance

Approximately 150 students were divided into twenty-eight research groups, each presenting their work through scientific posters. This format simulated international scientific conferences, allowing students to engage in peer discussions and expert feedback as faculty members evaluated their research.

The forum, held at the Faculty of Medical Sciences headquarters at Al-Nasser University, was attended by:
